We want to do the reunion as close as possible to Dalton, and since I don't know how excitng it would be to have daily tours of the carpet mill... be still my heart... we have focused our efforts on Chattanooga.
Downtown Chattanooga is a really neat small, urban area. I'm adding some links for those who've never been to Chatta-Vegas.
Since Grandpa succeeded in passing on his love of baseball to most of us, we thought it would be neat to have the "big event" of the reunion be Reiter Reunion night at the Chattanooga Lookouts baseball game! All the hotels listed below are less than a block from the stadium. There is a baseball & picnic option, but it is a little pricy ($16.50/ each). I am in discussion with the Lookouts to find out when they have a home series in mid - late July of 2009. Also what kind of deal we could get on the picnic.
We are also looking at t-shirts proclaiming the exciting weekend.
The hotels listed range from $150 - $230 (2 BR Suite).
All the attractions listed are in easy walking distance.
Serious discussions with hotels probably will not begin until May, since I am in a play... yes the engineer geek is now in ... Theater (dramatic pause here). OK quit laughing.. I am playing Coach Bolten in Disney's High School Musical On Stage at the Collonade Theater in Ringgold. Don't panic it is a non singing part. The performances will be on April 18, 19, 25, 26 so we'll be pretty busy until then with practice on top of: all 3 Hicklettes playing ball, leading Cub Scouts, teaching Sunday School, coordinating Pioneer Club, Women's Retreat, Sonya going on a mission trip for a week to Mexico, and expanded duties at work.
Here are some links, please either let me know via comments or email

with your thoughts on these ideas. Also if there is anyone who feels led to subsidize part of the reunion to reduce the overall costs, please let me know.
